Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed on Sunday that Iraq stands with Syrian territorial integrity, preserving civil peace, minority rights, social, cultural and ethnic diversity, and non-interference in internal affairs.

The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that “Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met today, Sunday, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Iraq, Mr. Mohamed Al-Hassan. The meeting included discussions on the relations and joint programs between Iraq and the United Nations, as well as the latest developments in Syria.”

The discussions also addressed the government’s efforts to complete its plans for economic reform, combat corruption, and advance other sectors in alignment with the government program. The Prime Minister emphasized Iraq’s commitment to fostering stability and development.
