Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest in a phone call on Wednesday with President Bashar Al-Assad of the Syrian Arab Republic.

The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA):that “The call addressed security coordination between the two countries in confronting the threats posed by remnants of terrorism and other security challenges. They also explored ways to enhance and expand cooperation across various fields, particularly in the economic sector, emphasizing the importance of raising the level of fruitful partnership for the benefit and growth of the two brotherly peoples.
