ATATÜRK AND ASIA – PROF. DR. HİKMET ÖZDEMİR
The Center for Eurasian Studies, on 22 December 2016, will host Prof. Dr. Hikmet Özdemir to deliver a conference titled Atatürk and Asia.
Prof. Dr. Hikmet Özdemir will discuss the role of Turkish intellectuals coming from the Eurasian geography in the transition process from empire to republic. Özdemir will also talk about Atatürk’s view on Asian armies, the importance he attached states as a statesmen to relations with Asian, and Atatürk’s opinion on the Turkish presence in Central Asia. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Özdemir will share his opinion on topics such as the Asian countries’ place in history studies during the Atatürk era.
