POLITICAL CONSULTATIONS BETWEEN FOREIGN MINISTRIES OF ARMENIA AND LITHUANIA HELD IN VILNIUS

Regular political consultations between foreign ministries of Armenia and Lithuania were held on May 31 in Vilnius. As Armenia’s foreign ministry reports, the Armenian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Karen Nazaryan, while the Lithuanian side was represented by Vice-Minister Darius Skusevičius. 
At the meeting, deputy ministers highlighted the historical, cultural relations between the two peoples that were best exemplified during recent events dedicated to the 100th anniversaries of the two countries held in Vilnius.

The consultations reflected on wide scope of issues concerning deepening of the Armenian-Lithuanian relations. Prospects for enhancement of the cooperation in the political, economic and culture sphere were bilaterally stressed.  The parties also reaffirmed readiness to pay frequent high-level visits as well as the need for holding regular sessions of inter-parliamentary commissions. 

The implementation of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) was stressed. Deputy Minister Nazaryan pointed to the importance of the joint commitments taken in the frames of Eastern Partnership Programme, the launch of visa-liberalization talks among them.

The delegation members also touched upon issues of regional and international agenda, including the NK peace process.
