President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 19, where the two leaders discussed key issues related to bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation in regional organizations, according to the presidential press service.

One of the main topics addressed during the call was the importance of further strengthening collaboration between the special services of Uzbekistan and Russia. Both leaders emphasized the need for effective joint efforts in combating security threats and risks in the region.

This discussion came in the wake of a recent attack in Russia, which resulted in the death of General Igor Kirillov and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov. The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported that the attack, which occurred on December 17, involved a bomb placed on an electric scooter.
