Retail sales in Slovenia fell by an annual 14.2% in terms of volume in November - the second-steepest decrease among EU member states for which data is available for that month of 2020, after France, Eurostat said.

On a monthly comparison basis, Slovenia's retail sales declined by 4.3% in terms of volume in November, the EU's statistical office said in a statement last week.

Among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE), only Romania and Croatia posted a rise in retail sales volumes in annual terms, of 4% and 1.6%, respectively. Romania's retail sales volume increased by 0.7% month-on-month, while Croatia's added 2.5% - the second-highest increase among EU-27, after the Netherlands.
