Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein warned on Tuesday of the danger of military escalation and its potential repercussions for the security and stability of the region, stressing Iraq's firm position of refusing the use of its airspace.

"Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Hussein received on Tuesday the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Iraq, Ambassador Steven Fagin," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

During the meeting, the military escalation in the region was discussed, emphasizing "its potential repercussions for the security and stability of the Middle East and international security, as well as its negative repercussions for the global economy."
