Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani returned to Baghdad on Monday after participating in the 38th conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union, held in Algeria.

"Al-Mashhadani arrived in Baghdad after participating in the 38th conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union, held in Algeria with the participation of several heads of Arab parliaments and councils," said the media office of the Speaker of Parliament in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The conference sessions witnessed "extensive discussions on regional and international issues, foremost among which is the Palestinian issue, in addition to discussing ways to develop the union's charter and enhance joint Arab parliamentary action to confront current challenges."
