Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed, on Thursday (4 September 2025), his efforts to establish an effective and influential regional role, noting that the development road project will achieve interconnectivity between Oman's ports and the Grand Faw Port, reaching Türkiye and Europe.

In an interview with Oman TV during his official visit to the Sultanate, which concluded today, the Prime Minister said, "I extend my greetings to the brotherly Omani people, and I affirm the great appreciation that the Iraqi people hold for their Omani brothers." He explained that "relations between Iraq and Oman are based on many historical, social, and economic commonalities, and include bright moments of support and assistance, as well as convergent visions and positions."

He added, "We signed 24 joint memoranda of understanding and two agreements, a significant and significant achievement, marking a true shift in the history of bilateral relations." He noted, "We are establishing a strategic partnership between Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman, and we are interested in its contribution to the business environment, investment, joint projects, and the development movement in Iraq."
